Katie Croft is a sculptor, painter, printmaker, photographer and entrepreneur. She was raised in Texas and now resides in Brooklyn, NY. She earned a BFA in photography from Baylor University and an MFA in Painting & Drawing from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She has been an artist and gallery owner for the last twenty years and has had the opportunity to found community arts programs, establish community arts initiatives, lead workshops, speak and educate throughout her career. Her current practice focuses on ceramics and painting.

"I utilize clay as a canvas positioning my drawings, paintings, and photographs onto the surface to create sculptural figures recontextualizing female perspectives of ancient myth and legend into personal narratives. The figures are simultaneously revealed and veiled. Narratives and stories, tropes, hidden images, and secrets highlight the ongoing behavior of dismissing female identity and perspective while at the same time celebrating the bountiful history and power of the feminine."
