Brazilian artist Sabrina Barrios finished her BFA in Graphic Design (UFSM, 2004) before relocating to London, São Paulo and Berlin. In 2009 she moved to New York to complete her MFA at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute (2012).

Sabrina's work has been included in The Fourth Bronx Museum Biennial in New York (2017); and in the Baku Biennale in Azerbaijan (2019). The artist currently lives between Brooklyn and Rio de Janeiro, using art as an instrument for dialogue, resistance and political change.

"I investigate gaps in history to question our ideas of reality. As a Latin-American immigrant, I’m keen to tell stories from a perspective outside the mainstream from western colonial narratives. My research is translated into different platforms through geometrical structures and bodily experiences; where the audience is confronted with portals into new ways of perceiving the world. The work is inspired by the Brazilian New-concrete movement of the 60’s, its ideals and explorations."
