Exhibitions

A selection of our recent exhibitions, both online and IRL. For us, exhibition curation is about creating community. We love to bring artists together in the same space.

  • This Reality

In collaboration with Repaint History and ArtGirlRising.

‘What struck us most vividly was the interplay these works have between both altered states and the lives we lead today. It's a very human instinct, to observe both the world we exist in, and simultaneously to dream fantastical dreams.’

We selected twelve artists from more than 300 entries. Six artists were also selected for the Repaint History artist fund, receiving CAD $680 to further their art careers.

  • Our New World

An exhibition curated by Subject Matter, FORA and ArtGirlRising, celebrating 14 outstanding female artists for International Women’s Day.

‘Women artists account for only 37% of commercial gallery representation in the UK. We say that change is too slow, we hope for a new world. A world where women artists are represented, a new world where difference is valued and celebrated.’

  • Holding Space

Holding Space brought together nine female artists. These artists are all women we have worked with or discovered over the last year. They've been in virtual exhibitions for us, and private curations for clients. We've never, however, been able to bring their work together before, in the same space. To finally have their work in the same room together felt like a reunion of close friends.

  • A Studio Somewhere, Half A Century Away

A curation for the wonderful artist collective, Ladies Drawing Club. Eight talented women artists were selected for their 9th Call for Art Edition.

‘I was struck by how many artists had interpreted the brief - in part - as a freedom to play. This playfulness involved a deep connection to their materials, an exploration of their medium and the pure enjoyment of the act of making, a love of the process.’

  • Homecoming

A group show in Kuala Lumpur, celebrating eight international artists.

Taking the spontaneous, expressive canvases of renowned Malaysian artist Hock-Aun Teh as a starting point, Homecoming presents voices both new and old, from Malaysia and abroad

  • We See You, We Hear You

A Group Show in London with 15 women artists from around the world.

‘We See You, We Hear You in Covent Garden is both transparent and genuine in its efforts to support women artists. The curation does not force the works into a dialogue with an overarching feminist message; gender is not a genre the curators explain.’
